Delicious Illinois Diner Dubbed ‘So Remote You’ve Probably Never Heard Of It’
When a tornado ripped through Grubsteakers four years ago I thought I'd never see the place open for business ever again.
With all the nasty weather we've been getting the past few days I was thinking about Grubsteakers. That fateful day in April 2015 for the people of Fairdale and surrounding areas that were devastated by the tornado changed many lives.
Then I saw this earlier today and it was a good reminder of how far Grubsteakers has come in just four years.
Only In Your State wrote about Grubsteakers glow up since the tornado and even talked about their food.
Besides the resiliency of the owners and faithful customers, Grubsteakers churns out some rather decent, uh, grub.
Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, this place is known for its classic American and Midwest fare. You'll find a whole page of sandwiches on the menu that include anything from burgers to croissant sandwiches to club sandwiches to patty melts to wraps.
They really dug the food. Only In Your State also called it a "Restaurant So Remote You've Probably Never Heard Of It."
True, Grubsteakers is remote, sitting in the middle of nowhere at the corner of 251 and 64, but everyone in northern Illinois knows the story about Grubsteakers and what they've overcome. Now, thanks to Only In Your State, the rest of the world will know too.
