Illinois’ Most Expensive Restaurant Costs Nearly $500 Per Person
A new list by the purveyors of love and food, LoveFood, says this award-winning restaurant in Illinois is one of the most expensive in America.
LoveFood seems to have a good idea of what people love to eat. Regarding places like the one they found in Illinois, they also like to go where the celebs go.
A few years ago, Justin Timberlake was spotted at this restaurant, which is popular for people celebrating birthdays or other important milestones.
To determine how this food-eating experience made the list, LoveFood looked "for the most expensive restaurant in every state that is genuinely worth a blowout, basing our picks on the priciest main course or tasting menu, and avoiding spots with just one very expensive dish."
It's called Alinea, and LoveFood says you best bring your wallet because it's expensive, like "you might have to skip your car payment this month" expensive.
Three Star Michelin Restaurant, Alinea
According to Tock, the website you would go to reserve a table at Alinea, the restaurant "has been universally praised for its innovative approach to modernist cuisine. It has been named the Best Restaurant in the World by Elite Traveler, the Best Restaurant in North America by The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, and the Best Restaurant in the U.S. by Gourmet and Business Insider. It is one of only 14 restaurants in the U.S. to earn the coveted Michelin 3-Star rating."
If that doesn't make you see dollar signs when booking a table, a table for two at Alinea will cost between $435 and $495 per person plus add-ons.
Then again, look at the food at Alinea and tell me if you think it's worth it.
Alinea is located at 1723 North Halsted Street in Chicago.
