Facebook and Apple Will Pay Employees to Freeze Their Eggs

Some jobs have different perks than others.

Certain companies give you more vacation days, some have more lenient dress codes and now, some companies will pay for your to freeze your eggs, like your internal eggs, so that you can put off having children until the time is right in your career.

So, as a childless woman, I think I get to have an opinion on this. But the problem is, I'm not sure what my opinion is.

Facebook and Apple are the companies that are publicly announcing their decision to pay up to $20,000 for their employees to freeze their eggs, so that they can wait to start a family.

They are also offering the same amount to help pay for infertility treatments or sperm donors. In reality, this is all great news. Those things can all be awfully expensive, so having your company shell out money for help you is amazing.

I think what makes me feel iffy about this, is that it seems like the companies are saying, "do not have babies when you're 25 or 30, you are too crucial to the company to grow a human before you're 40."
