Gotta Go: Fashion Trends Illinois Is Officially Tired Of

Fashion trends come and go, and sometimes they disappear as quickly as they arrived. One minute everyone is obsessed with a certain look, and the next people are wondering how it ever became popular in the first place. That's kind of the fun of fashion, though. Not every trend is going to be a winner, and everyone has at least a few styles they simply don't understand.

Let me be real: Barrel pants gotta go. I look atrocious in them, that's the only reason I think they are a terrible fashion trend. I am 5'3", so that might also be a factor in how they fit and look on me. Either way, they gotta go!

When I asked on Facebook about which fashion trends we could live without, the responses were pretty accurate (most of them). Some were debatable lol. It might just be that we live in a state where fashion isn't that important, or we're behind on the times!

Bras (forreal)
Skinny jeans
No-show socks (my #1)
Crocs
Star pimple patches
Jeggings (def were cool in high school)
Barrel jeans
Anything from Shein
Thong flip flops on men

A few of these surprised me, like Crocs. They're ugly, sure. But they're comfy, that's for sure! Skinny jeans were literally a requirement in everyone's closet in high school, now they've become one of the most polarizing clothing items around.

As for Shein? I have to admit I do own a handful of items from the brand, but I've only ever bought them secondhand. I've never ordered from the website itself. The sizing is always weird online, so I'd rather just thrift it later when someone has broken it in already, you feel me?

At the end of the day, fashion is subjective. Have fun with it, wear what you want!
