You might know him from Solider Field, but Rolling Meadows football players now know Robbie Gould as 'coach.'

When you're a kid and you dream of playing football professionally someday, you usually think that's the job that you'll do as an adult.

Most kids don't make it to the NFL, but those who do eventually realize that your career as an NFL football player isn't exactly one you'll do forever. It's not quite the same as becoming a lawyer or a teacher or a doctor. NFL players usually transition to something else before they're 40.

Which is why, they end up with new careers, including former Chicago Bears kicker, Robbie Gould. You remember him right?

Of course you do. Robbie was on the Bears for 11 seasons from 2005 until 2015 with some pretty impressive states. ChicagoBears.com puts Robbie as the Bears all-time leading scorer, making 85.4% of his field-goal attempts and 99% of his extra-point tries!

Robbie retired in 2023 and just this fall made his debut at his new job, head football coach at Rolling Meadows High School.

Earlier this year, Robbie told NBC Chicago he took the job because of the importance coaching played in his career development.

His team hit the field for the first time last Friday in Pekin at Memorial Stadium and unfortunately lost 28-14.

Yahoo Sports shared the story noting Robbie's comments including, 'you sure don't coach high school football for the money,' and 'watching them come back in this game, seeing them battle and show heart and spirit - that's why I took this job.'
