Former Chicago Cubs Manager Joe Maddon Reveals His Favorite $25 Bottle of Wine on Illinois Talk Show
Yes, he coached the Chicago Cubs to their first World Series in over one hundred years, but did you know that Joe Maddon is also a huge wine lover?
Ten years ago, I didn't know how Joe Maddon was. I was just starting my career in radio in Auora and thougt the Chicago Cubs would never win a World Series.
Slowly but surely, when Joe Maddon took over the Cubs franchise, things changed a ton for Chicago Cubs fans.
So much so that, yep you know this already... in the fall of 2016 the life of a Cubs fan changed forever as we were able to watch the Cubs fly a W flag in November for the first time in who knows how long.
After that, Joe Maddon became a bit more famous in my eyes. Now not only does he sit there in my brain as the greatest baseball coach ever, but he is my youngest nephew, Maddon,'s namesake.
It goes without saying that I was very excited but also nervous to interview him last week on Good Day Stateline.
Joe is promoting his new book with Tom Verducci, 'The Book of Joe: Trying Not to Suck at Baseball and Life,'
We talked about his book, my Maddon and his love of wine and he even gave us his current favorite Tampranillo reccomendation which is just $25 a bottle.
After a little googling, I found the wine Joe was talking about, it's ironically a 2016 bottle, the Kellari of the Knights Tempranillo from Cair.
