If I were participating in the "30 Days of Giving Thanks" movement on Facebook this month, today I'd be thankful for Fred VanVleet.

Despite being in the middle of the NBA season, he's still finding a way to give back to his hometown of Rockford this Thanksgiving by supplying 200 turkeys for families in need on the west side.

According to WREX the event will take place at Auburn High School this Sunday and it begins at noon; the turkeys are first come first serve and there will be a limit of one per family.

Unfortunately, if you were hoping to meet Fred, he won't be there, but his family and close friends will be.

The Rockford Police Department is also doing something special for the community this Saturday too; click on the link below for more information.
