This is the first time I have ever seen a haunted house be completely free to walk into.  If you like to be spooked, this might be the place to go this weekend!

As I've gotten older, I stopped going to haunted houses only because I refuse to get my heart rate up.  I look back on all the days I'd tag along with my friends in school and slowly did I start to question: WHY?

Why do we pay someone to scare us?

Why are we okay with someone chasing us down with a chainsaw?

Why do I want to hyperventilate in a dark, smelly maze?

I would much rather go to a FREE haunted house in case I don't make it all the way through.  I have nothing to lose except my shoes when I fall from being chased (duh).

Free Kid-Friendly Haunted House

You can visit this attraction from October 14-16 and 20-22 from 6-8:30pm at 5200 S University Ave, Chicago.  All kids, 14 years or younger, must be accompanied by an adult to get in!  You must sign up to attend.

If you aren't interested in walking the entire way, there is also a drive-thru haunted house, too. No blood or gore, but there will be jump scares!

This one seems more like my type of thing; If someone drives me through a haunted attraction I'd be more than willing to go!  I'd also feel safer in my car than having nowhere to escape in a haunted house.

Make sure you sign up before you go!  You can get all the details here and sign up to bring the kiddos this weekend.  At least one child needs to be in attendance per group.  Have a fang-tastic time!
