Here’s How You Can Explore Chicago’s Finest Museums Free in July
One of the best parts about having Chicago so close to us in Rockford is the proximity to an unlimited amount of art and culture.
It would be nearly impossible to check out all of the incredible museums in Chicago on a tight budget.
Well, someone in the know knows how much easier it would be for us to visit these incredible places if they were free.
That's why there are special "free" days for Illinois residents to see some of the finest museums in the world for absolutely nothing.
Free Museum Days in July: Take Your Pick!
First, the Art Institute of Chicago offers free admission every Thursday evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The Chicago History Museum also offers free entry on July 4 and 17 if you want to get in without paying.
Also, the Museum of Contemporary Art is free on Tuesday as well.
Then there's the Adler Planetarium offering free general admission on July 5, 6, and 7.
Hey, don't forget about the Field Museum.
Free Wednesdays at the Field Museum: A Year-Long Perk
They offer free admission on Wednesdays throughout the year, not just in July, for all of 2024.
Remember to bring your state-issued ID to show proof of residency to get in for free.
August Savings: Free Entry to the Museum of Science and Industry
Unfortunately, the Griffin Museum of Science and Industry won't offer any free days in July.
However, as reported by NBC 5 in Chicago, they plan to offer free admission to Illinois residents on August 19, 20, 26, and 27.
