I've lived in Illinois nearly my whole life, so it was quite the surprise to find out a place I've never heard of named the weirdest named town in Illinois.

Maybe it's because Chicken Bristle, Illinois is a small little town. So much so, Wikipedia has this to say about it, "Chicken Bristle is an unincorporated community in Douglas County, Illinois, United States. Chicken Bristle is 5.5 miles (8.9 km) northwest of Tuscola."

According to the News Gazette, "Chicken Bristle is about a half-dozen homes, a radio tower, a bridge over the Kaskaskia River, thick woods, some stray dogs and a lot of farmland."

So it's small, doesn't have a water tower and is now famous, well, "internet famous."

Thrillist just named this uber small town the "weirdest named town" in Illinois. Congratulations Chicken Bristle! I'd tell the residents to have a parade but I don't think it's quite big enough.

Ah well, next time you're in Douglas County think about Chicken Bristle. Just don't blink, because if you do, you'll probably miss it.
