Our Totally Retro Prom is right around the corner, are you freaking out because you can't find a dress, let alone one that fits? You're not alone, I was in your boat.

Last week, I spent most of my spare time online searching for dresses. I found a couple and luckily they were in my size. I thought "Great, I won't need to take it for alterations." I did however read on a couple of these dress pages that vintage sizes do not match today's sizes, but I chose to ignore that.

My friend, Patty, found a dress for me to try. It was a true dress from the 80's...pink and frilly, and my size! I thought I lucked out...but no. It's didn't fit! I guess vintage sizes are different!

I was in a panic yesterday. So, out of nowhere, I decided to go to the Goodwill Store. I've never been in there, so I was shocked to see a whole warehouse like place full of everything! I felt hope. I started looking through the dresses, and was excited by the selection! I couldn't believe they actually had dresses from the 80's on their racks! I found one, tried it on, and it fit like a glove! I never felt such relief!

Here are my tips to you as you are looking for the perfect vintage prom dress-

1) Vintage sizes are different. When I'm a size 2 in a regular dress, my 80's dress is a size 7-8. So, shop for bigger sizes.

2)  Do shop the Salvation Army or Goodwill. Like I said, I've never been in there, but I'm so glad I took the trip! I found exactly what I was looking for, AND I found my dress for $5.99! You can't beat that!

I hope you find the perfect dress for the Totally Retro Prom! Can't wait to see you there!
