Here’s When The COVID-19 Vaccine Could Arrive In Winnebago County
While people are still debating whether or not they'll take the COVID-19 vaccine when it becomes widely available, one thing is for sure, it's coming soon to Winnebago County.
Apparently, "A vaccine could be in the county by December 12." says UIC professor, Chris Schriever to WIFR.
Whoa, big if true. I mean, it's going to be a while until it trickles down to you and me but a vaccine coming to Rockford in the next two weeks? I'm here for it.
Schriever also told WIFR, the distribution would start with high-risk groups and those with "the most direct or indirect contact with those at risk and those are the ones that we think of as our front line workers."
Meaning, those in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, doctors, nurses, and others in similar situations would probably come first, and it makes all the sense.
The best part of all this is that there is obvious light at the end of the tunnel. It looks like we're turning the corner on the pandemic, just a bit more until we all can get the vaccine, or at least a vast majority.
Personally, give me the shot. I miss everything I haven't been able to do in the past 9 months. Traveling, dining out, going to the movies, concerts, shows, hanging with friends and family too.
These little blurbs, even with the slight "could" that came from Schriever was enough to make me feel better. We're almost there friend, hang in there.
