Illinois Crowns Hallmark Classic as Best Christmas Movie Of All Time
We all have a favorite Christmas movie. Does your happen to be Illinois' favorite?
If it were me, I would've guessed 'Elf', 'A Charlie Brown Christmas', or 'The Grinch' as Illinois' favorite, but I guessed wrong - so far off.
The most popular Christmas movie in Illinois is undoubtedly the 1989's National Lampoon's 'Christmas Vacation' starring Chevy Chase!

Chevy Chase actually just made an appearance in Rockford a few months ago at the Coronado Performing Arts Center. People were flocking to get a glimpse of him in person, he didn't disappoint!
Set in the fictional town of Chicago, 'Christmas Vacation' follows Clark as he attempts to give his family the perfect Christmas.
As the movie progresses, total chaos ensues.. meaning it's a hilarious film every family must watch together at least once!
One of the most iconic scenes is in the family's backyard where Clark attempts to put up an enormous light display. Even though he had help from neighbors and all the necessary tools, the display causes a power outage for the entire neighborhood.
Why do people LOVE this movie?
It portrays a typical American family just trying to enjoy the holidays while encountering a series of unfortunate events along the way.
On top of that, there are many traditions in the film that real-life families grew up with. It's kinda nice to be reminded of those nostalgic memories!
If you love getting into the Christmas spirit and want a solid movie to watch with your family and friends, you have come to the right place.
Seriously, it is a beloved film in Illinois for its heartwarming, funny depiction of the holiday season. If you haven't seen it, this is the time to watch it.
