Illinois Drivers Have One REALLY Annoying Habit
I discovered something about myself while driving around Rockford recently: I can't stand when people do this one specific thing when they drive.
Madison Street's construction has really [put me through hell all summer. They've created a new Northbound, temporary lane while they fix a bunch of the road in the actual Northbound lane.

With all the road work, it's a pretty tight squeeze down Madison right now. If you're driving on either side headed north or south, you know you have to pay a little extra attention than usual or you're slamming into someone head-on.
Like, I know nobody is going to hit me, but that doesn't stop me from immediately moving as far over as I can. It makes me so uncomfortable when other drivers get so close!
Maybe this is just a "me" problem?
Maybe I'm overly-cautious, BUT there is an entire lane available to you, so why are you driving three inches away from my lane?! Especially with all the construction barriers, uneven pavement, railroad tracks, and all the other stuff along Madison Street.

Too many people lately have been getting way too close to the center line and almost sideswiping me! It's probably in my driving pet peeves right now. The other two that are really giving me a little road rage? People who don't use turn signals to switch lanes and anyone who runs red lights.
Seriously, there is nowhere that important you have to be that involves speeding through a red light.
Ever.
What driving habit instantly makes you irrationally annoyed?
