Who wouldn't like some summer fun money? Especially when it's already your money.

I was scrolling through Facebook yesterday when I noticed a friend had posted a website that lets you check any missing monies in your life that might be owed to you.

I thought "what the heck" and gave it a try. I was surprised to find out I was owed nearly $100. Then and there I knew I needed to share it with you too.

The website is called iCash and it's an Illinois government website backed by Illinois Treasurer Michael W. Frerichs.

iCash asks you for your first and last name along with whichever city you reside and will quickly check to see if any cash is owed to you.

They base the search on "unclaimed property," examples include:

  • Inactive savings and checking accounts
  • Unpaid wages or commissions
  • Stocks, bonds, and mutual funds
  • Money orders and bill over payments
  • Paid-up life insurance policies
  • Safe deposit box contents

The website has been up and running since 2015, but it's the first I've heard of it. Now that you know about it, get what's owed to you.
