Illinois Named The Wine Consuming Capital Of The Midwest
Excuse the typos, it's a little hard to get this all out while holding a glass of red.
Personally, I'll take a nice shiraz to unwind. Turns out, I'm not alone.
Illinois ranked in the top five in the U.S in "wine consumption" trailing only Texas, New York, Florida, and California per VinePair.
In fact, the 35,000 plus gallons of wine shows Illinois residents drink two times as much wine as Wisconsin, Indiana, Iowa, and Missouri folks.
Only Michigan can hold a candle (or glass) to the amount of wine we ingest with just over 25,000 gallons.
So fellow Illinoisians, raise a glass of your favorite red or white tonight and toast the finest wine drinking state in the Midwest.
