Illinois Residents Are Moving to Neighboring States in Droves
Apparently people are leaving Illinois in droves, but the big question is, where are they going?
According to the Quad-City Times, "Illinois ranks 49th out of 50 states in net migration loss. Between 2012 and 2018, the state shrank by 134,000 residents."
No matter what the reason may be for the exodus of Illinois residents, people are leaving.
The top 5 destinations for people leaving Illinois are:
Indiana, Missouri, and Wisconsin are interesting choices, considering the weather is pretty much the same, so maybe just the proximity, but California and Florida make sense.
