Illinois Residents Do This More Than Any Other State In America
If you think you're the only one who shares your streaming app passwords with friends, you might want to keep reading.
I remember when I moved out of my parents' house, got my own Smart TV and still mooched off their streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+. Now, it sucks that you get kicked off an account if the provider sees you aren't under the same roof as the main account holder.
So much for all the free shows I got to watch!
After a recent survey, they found that "69% of Americans have used someone else's login for a streaming service in the past." [securedatarecovery] Why wouldn't we? If we didn't have to pay an extra penny to share someone's account, we password-shared as much as we could!
I guess Illinois residents were more likely to do it more than others. I'm not surprised.
Illinois Residents Rank 4th Most Likely To Share Passwords For Streaming Services More Than Any Other State
Coming in at #1 is California.
"Leading the way is California with a password sharing score of 98.0 out of 100. Residents in the state are most likely to use a shared password for Netflix and Disney+."
At #2, Ohio with a score of 91 out of 100.
At #3, Florida wasn't too far behind with an 89.8 out of 100.
Then, Illinois at #4 with a score of 88 out of 100. What's even crazier is Chicago came in at #2 for being the 'U.S city most likely to borrow streaming app passwords'. Probably because rent is insane.
Before all the new rules and regulations, how many apps did you password-share with your friends and family?
