First, we're burping our houses, then we're mopping our walls.  Now?  We're cleaning our blinds without a traditional duster.

There are two types of people during spring cleaning season: the ones who go all in... and the ones who stare at their blinds and pretend they're not that dusty.

I admit it, I used to be the second person.

Blinds are one of those things we all ignore until the sun hits them just right and suddenly it looks like they've been aging in a dusty attic since 2009.  And if you've ever tried cleaning them the "normal" way, you know it usually just turns into dust flying everywhere and settling right back where it started.

But this hack?  It actually changes everything and costs $0.

Illinois Homeowners Are Swearing By This $0 Spring Cleaning Hack

Grab an old, clean cotton or microfiber sock to start.  Slide it onto your hand like a little puppet.  That's it.  That's the trick.

Instead of awkwardly wiping each slat with a paper towel or trying to maneuver a duster that barely works, you literally run your hand across each blind.  Your fingers naturally fit around both sides of the slat, so you're cleaning the top and bottom at the same time.  And because it's fabric, it traps the dust instead of just pushing it around.

Now if your blinds are more "I haven't touched these since last spring" level, take it up a notch.  Mix 50/50 solution of warm water and white vinegar, or rubbing alcohol if you prefer!  Lightly dampen the sock (don't soak it, though!), and wipe down each slat.  The vinegar helps cut through grime and buildup, especially in kitchens where grease likes to cling.  Rubbing alcohol works great too and dries quickly, which is perfect if you don't want to wait around for everything to dry.

It's cheap.

It's easy.

It uses something you probably already heave.  And... it's kind of satisfying.
