Illinois Teen’s Duct Tape Coronavirus-Themed Prom Dress Is Incredible
Just because prom didn't happen for most students in 2020, that doesn't mean they shouldn't be allowed to show off their creative ideas.
Duck Brand duct tape announced a contest earlier this year challenging prom attendees to create their own attire using their tape.
Well, one Illinois student's coronavirus-themed duct tape dress has caught the nation's (and world's) attention.
Peyton Manker, a now-graduated senior from Sparta High School, just over 5 hours from Rockford, spent nearly 400 hours and 41 rolls of duct tape putting this incredible dress together.
Manker's dress was so good, she named a finalist in Duck Brand's "Stuck at Prom" scholarship contest.
The winner receives over $20,000 in cash scholarship prizes.
We’re giving away $20,000 in cash scholarships to high school students who make the best prom attire out of Duck® Brand Duct Tape! New this year? Suzy Smith Manker, Peyton's mom, posted photos of her daughter's thought-provoking work on Facebook.
The post received over 50,000 comments and was shared over 250,000 times on the popular social media site.
There's still time for you to vote for Manker's dress at DuckBrand.com.
