In 1987 Bon Jovi Salutes South Beloit Wisconsin, Now His Vocals Have Gone South

With graduation season here, it's always fun to revisit this story. Bon Jovi was sitting on top of the rock world in 1987. The band was selling out areas across the country, and on April 29th 1987 they made their way to Rockford.

With a huge, smash hit album "Slippery When Wet" and the band Cinderella on the road with them, there was nothing that could stop Bon Jovi...But what about the graduating seniors at South Beloit High School?

The date of the Metro Centre show, April 29th was also the date of the South Beloit High School graduation! Ah man...walk with the cap and gown or grab some Aqua Net and a pair of Acid Washed jeans? That's a real 1987 real world problem!

So what did the staff at South Beloit High School do with this type of MASSIVE problem? They changed the time of the graduation! That is style and class, that is pretty rock and roll!

Jon Bon Jovi mentioned the graduation on stage in front of a sold out Metro Centre, and wore a South Beloit football jersey at one point. Also, Tico the drummer wore a South Beloit jersey in one of their music videos. Check this out:
