Illinois ‘Largest’ Fireworks Display Is Not Far From Rockford
It's not often that one of the biggest and best of something isn't in Chicago, and this is one of those times.
Just a stone's throw away in Itasca, organizers call it the "Largest Independence Day Fireworks Show Synchronized to Music."
A unique feature that sets it apart from other celebrations.
I am unsure what would make the fireworks display the "largest."
Still, I'll have to agree with the folks in Itasca.
I can tell you they won't have to compete with Chicago for fireworks supremacy because they are passing on one for yet another year.
It's worth noting that Itasca is conveniently close to Rockford, just an hour or so drive away.
This makes the event easily accessible and a perfect opportunity for a day trip.
The event, which starts at 4:30 and runs until 10:30, offers a diverse range of activities for the kids, live music, and a spectacular fireworks show at 9:45.
Plus, the food options are sure to impress, with offerings from renowned establishments like Genoa Italian, Ben & Jerry's Naperville, and craft beers from Church Street Brewery.
There will also be glow sticks and other light-up items seemingly available at the event.
The Itasca 4th of July fireworks extravaganza is free, but parking is not.
Organizers are charging $25 a car, with "preferred parking" priced at $30.
Plenty of significant fireworks events are happening in Illinois, and we have the list of them HERE, but this is probably the largest.
