The experts at Yelp claim they found the best friend chicken in the Land of Lincoln and it is not at a southern-style restaurant, but instead at a place that specializes in Boba Tea and other Taiwanese food. Here are the details...

Yelp released a list on July, 1st of the fried chicken places in each state that are "finger-licking" good, and the place they chose for Illinois has nothing to do with Kentucky Fried Chicken but instead Taiwanese fried chicken, a place called Hello Jasmine. Hello Jasmine is located in Chicago, in fact, there are three Chicago locations, one in Chinatown, one in the Lincoln Park neighborhood, and the other in the Lincoln Square neighborhood. You can see the entire Yelp list by clicking here!

What makes Hello Jasmine so special? On Yelp, they say, "We import our main ingredients from Taiwan and make the order once it's placed. The food is worth the wait for its freshness and tastiness. You can find the four iconic Taiwanese Street Food here: Chicken Steak(G-Pie), Popcorn Chicken(Salty crispy chicken), Bubble Tea, Braised pork over rice." They go on to mention that their main goal is to preserve and promote Taiwanese food and culture in Chicago.

What is on the Menu at Hello Jasmine?

You can look at the menu for Hello Jasmine by clicking here! Some of the things that stand out to me are 4-piece Fried Chicken, Popcorn Chicken, Chicken Wings, Grilled Taiwanese Sausage, and Fried Street Corn. I have never had the food from Hello Jasmine but this place is now my number 1 place to try the next time I go back to the Windy City!
