A city in Missouri is in danger of becoming the most overweight city in the United States, but food is more than just a part of this city, it is a way of life. Here are the details...

Kansas City, Missouri just found itself ranked as the 48th most overweight city in the US in 2024 according to a new ranking from the experts at WalletHub. WalletHub said they compared the 100 most populated cities in the US and used 19 different metrics to come up with these rankings.

For reference, St. Louis lands 69th on the list, Chicago is a surprisingly low 84th on the list, and neighboring cities like Des Moines and Omaha are both ranked in the 50s. The list says the most overweight of the top 100 most populated cities in the US is McAllen, Texas, and the least overweight of our biggest cities is Seattle, Washington. Are you surprised by this?

Honestly, I would have figured that Kansas City, being home to the best BBQ in the country, should have been higher on the list! Good for the people of Kansas City to be able to eat that delicious food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and still not be one of the 10 most overweight cities in the US. People in Kansas City must have a really good balance between eating and working out, or they just stick with a high protein diet and cut out the carbs (pulled pork sandwich minus the bun, ya know?). Also, shout out to St. Louis and Chicago for being brilliant food cities that are lower on the list!
