I’m shocked I haven't stumbled on this in all my searches for Rockford sports clips. It felt like unearthing a lost sports nugget that needed to be dusted off before hitting play. The second I did, I was hit with grainy footage, big shoulder pads, and pure late ’80s and early ’90s high school vibes.
The Soundtrack: Queen, Benatar, Survivor
The soundtrack is pure perfection for a football throwback: Queen, Pat Benatar, Loverboy, Survivor. These are some of the all-time greatest high school game-day anthems. Between the music are just enough random plays to make you wonder what exactly you’re watching. You might even catch yourself saying, “Hey, I was at that game,” or “I remember that kid.”

A Rockford Highlight Reel Lost in Time
The eerie part is that this video has been sitting on YouTube since 2015 with just over 500 views and one lonely comment asking about Hononegah’s 1989 highlights. Hopefully, this isn’t my own Ring 2025 moment.
