You might be traveling for work, or just want to go to a restaurant where no friends or family are up for it or too busy to go with, so you have to forage out on your own. There have been times or two when I needed to eat by myself. Again, not my favorite, but for some, it's what they would rather do.

Based on comments and likes, I believe I whittled it down to a perfect 10 places in the Rockford for a solo outing.
Top 10 Restaurants for a Solo Outing in Rockford
Ernie's Midtown Pub at 1025 5th Avenue. Chris said to "sit at the bar."
Sisters Thai at 514 East State Street. Valifor says Sisters Thai "has a really cute atmosphere, it's family-owned and very friendly, and they have some of the best food I've ever had in Rockford.
GreenFire at 6795 East Riverside Boulevard. Julie says to eat at GreenFire's bar, and the "staff is so nice, and you get the same service as at a traditional table."
The Parks Bar & Grill at 1001 West Lane Road in Machesney Park. Tami said, "Love that place!"
Jason's Deli at 575 South Perryville Road. Nominated by Katie, Jason's Deli is locally rated 3.9 out of 5 on Yelp.

27 Aluna at 124 North Main Street and Social Urban Bar & Restaurant at 509 East State Street. Both restaurants were nominated by Angelica, who said both "have great vibes for dining solo."
Franchesco's is at 7128 Spring Creek Road. Jen said to go to Franchesco's, and it currently has 4.5 out of 5 stars on Google Reviews.
Garrett's is at 1631 North Bell School Road, and Lucha Cantina is at 1641 North Alpine Road. Melinda nominated both, and said both "come to mind first when I think of pretty & enjoyable."
