A Rockford area woman was on Wheel of Fortune earlier this week.

Her name is Jess Brady, a Loves Park resident who applied and ended up on the show.

Zim and I talked to Brady earlier this week and had nothing but positive things to say about her time with new host Ryan Seacrest and iconic letter-turner Vanna White.

As you may or may not know, Seacrest took over for long-time Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak, and all eyes have been on how the new host is adjusting to the gig.

Brady remarked that it was one of the very first tapings for Seacrest at Wheel of Fortune, and it seemed like, to absolutely no one's surprise, he had taken to his role like a boss.

As for Brady, she and another Illinois resident, Clayton Charles, from Bourbonnais, went toe-to-toe throughout the night, with Charles barely edging Brady out to play in the Bonus Round (Charles lost.)

I wasn't aware of whether contestants who don't make it to the final round get to keep any of the prize money they earned while playing.

Brady told me she did, and the total was nearly $20K. That's not bad for a half-hour of work. Brady remarked that she'll need to up her hourly pay at her everyday job.
