The Lowest-Rated ‘Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives’ Restaurant in Illinois

Guy Fieri has been to Illinois numerous times to film parts of his hit TV show Diners Drive-Ins and Dives.

I have been a fan since I first caught it on the Food Network.

In that time, Fieri has been to some places that have made my mouth water.

Even better, he has traveled to some restaurants that we Illinois folk can check out if interested.

Fieri would have to stop in Chicago, but he has been all over the state giving some seriously unsung restaurants their due.

Almost all of the food looks great but sometimes, you have to wonder how they ended up on the show.

HOW MANY TIMES HAS AN ILLINOIS RESTAURANT BEEN ON TRIPLE D?

In case you didn't know, Fieri has profiled 38 diners, drive-ins, and dives in the Land of Lincoln.

Using Yelp, I decided to take a closer look to see how well the public received each restaurant.

I didn't find many joints lower than a 3.8 or 3.9. Mostly, the restaurants are in the 4.0 and up range, which is great considering you're talking diners, drive-ins, and dives. Remember, these places aren't going to score Michelin stars.

Then there's the White Palace Grill.

Featured on season 2 of Triple D, on the episode called Open 24/7, this restaurant has a stunningly low Yelp rating of 3.3.

I have never been to the White Palace Grill but based on the pics, the food looks good.

Greg H. said  the food was not great while adding they've "been wanting to try this place out ever since seeing it on Triple D" and "How it made it on Triple D, I do not know."

However, Peter Q's review pushes back, mentioning "It was just as good as Guy told us."
