Illinois Shockingly Called Out as One of America’s Ugliest States
Hold on. How can we have one of the most beautiful big cities in America and still be considered one of the ugliest states?
How is that even possible?
The Chicago skyline and our parks, which are among the most gorgeous in the country, should easily disprove that theory.
No matter what I think or believe, it appears Metro has already got a leg up on me when it comes to calling out ugly American states because they put Illinois on blast.
As I perused the list of what they deemed The 10 Ugliest American States, I was genuinely shocked to find Illinois' name listed.

Metro, an entertainment site based in the UK, has the audacity to rank Illinois as the ninth-ugliest state in America. I couldn't disagree more.
Their reasoning, which seems to hinge on a single movie and a vague description of Chicago, is not only unfair but also lacks any substantial basis.
Metro, which must've never visited The Land of Lincoln, calls out a beloved 90s flick to prove its point, saying Illinois is the "home of Wayne and Garth from Wayne's World."
That's nonsense. That movie was excellent, too. The second one, eh, it's okay.
Metro then says this: Nice in parts, sketchy in others, you have to imagine that the Windy City of Chicago is dragging this state down a little, however nice (but built up) the centre of the city is."
As unbelievable as that is, Metro went after a couple of the midwest states like Indiana and Ohio.
However, Rhode Island took the brunt of the punishment, being called the ugliest state in the country.
