It's National Hot Dog Day today, July 15, and there are plenty of places to grab a hot dog to celebrate properly.

I'm not talking about "mustard and onions only" properly either, because on a day like today, no judgments if your preferred hot dog topping is ketchup, it's all about enjoying the glory that is a hot dog.

I feel like there needs to be more restaurants that have the standard hot dog on the menu, because who can't go for one? Anyway, there are still plenty of restaurants in the Rockford area celebrating National Hot Dog Day with deals.

  • Portillo's is selling hot dogs for $1 to Perks members with a $5 purchase through July 16.
  • Circle K Inner Circle members can grab a hot dog for just a $1 today only
  • Love's Travel Stops Love's Rewards members can get a free hot dog today using the app.
  • Buona is also selling a Chicago-style hot dog and fries for $5.99 today.

Sonic will sell corndogs tomorrow, July 16, for just 99 cents, and while it's not a special, there is one place I'd be remiss not to mention among the best hot dog deals.
