Netflix Reveals How Many Users Watched ‘You’
Everyone is watching You, according to Netflix.
Unless you've been living under a rock, there's a very good chance you watched Penn Badgley's problematic character Joe Goldberg kill a bunch of people in the not-so-romantic Lifetime thriller, You. The show became a hit after it started streaming on Netflix three weeks ago—so much so, that's it's literally all anyone's talking about. It sparked memes, as well as debates about whether it's OK to think Joe is attractive. Even Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown came under fire after she said that he’s “not creepy, he’s in love with her and it’s OK.”
All this to say, the series is an absolute hit, which is why it comes to no surprise that A LOT of people have tuned in. According to Netflix, the show is “on track to be viewed by more than 40 million members in its first four weeks."
In case you didn't know, the show was picked up by Netflix for a second season and will be based on the novel Hidden Bodies, which was also written by author Caroline Kepnes. We have no idea what to expect other than the fact that "Joe moves to LA and he completely hates it." TBH, we just hope Joe gets what he deserves...
