Is Normani Recording a Song With This Famous Fifth Harmony Fan?
Normani may have enlisted a famous Fifth Harmony stan for her upcoming debut solo album.
On Wednesday (August 8), the "Love Lies" singer's management team took to Twitter to share a photo of her with none other than Sam Smith, an avowed Harmonizer who refuses to do karaoke unless it's a 5H song and was left devastated by the group's March hiatus.
"Studio vibes @Normani @samsmithworld," the picture, which features Normani and Smith hugging, is captioned.
Neither Normani or Smith have commented further, so details are murky, but it certainly seems to suggest a collab between the two is in the works. Needless to say, fellow 5H fans were overwhelmed.
"I can feel the waterworks right now, in not prepared to have my emotions attacked," tweeted one follower. "Whew, the power that this has," wrote another, while a third person summarized their feelings with an apt gif of Real Housewives of Atlanta's Nene Leakes: "Go home wig. Goodbye wig. GO AWAY. BYE WIG," it reads.
Normani has yet to announce an album title or release date for her solo record, but has been steadily dropping hints about what it will entail. So far, she's revealed she's working with Missy Elliott, DJ Mustard, the Dream, and Stargate — the Norwegian production duo behind hits like Selena Gomez's "Same Old Love" and 5H's "Work from Home" — among others.
"I’m able to go to the studio now and write about ideas that actually mean something to me," she recently told The Fader. "I am going back to the music that I grew up with that really inspires me. I get to pull from that and incorporate those sounds into this project."
