Olivia Jade broke her silence and uploaded her first YouTube video since news broke of her family's alleged involvement in a college admissions scandal.

Jade's parents, Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli, have been charged with "conspiring to commit fraud and money laundering in connection with a scheme to use bribery to cheat on college entrance exams and to facilitate their children’s admission to selective colleges and universities as purported athletic recruits," USA Today reported.

The pair allegedly paid $500,000 for Jade and her sister, Isabella, to guarantee their admission to the University of Southern California by appearing as athletes on the rowing team. Loughlin and Giannulli plead not guilty to the charges. Their daughters are no longer students at USC.

Jade's video marked the first time she has spoken out publically since the scandal. "Obviously I’ve been gone for a really long time and as much as I wish I could talk about all of this, it’s really hard for me to say this, just because I know that it’s something that needs to be addressed," Jade began her video by saying.

As for details of her departure from the college and her family's legal battles, she could not comment on anything pertaining to the case. "I’m legally not allowed to speak on anything going on right now," she shared.

"There’s no point in me just talking for ten minutes to the camera about how I wish I could say something when I really can’t so I’m going to leave it at that," she concluded.

Jade then thanked her followers for sticking around and revealed that she was "terrified" to make her return to the social media platform but she genuinely missed creating content. She ended the video by revealing that she will be uploading new videos soon.
