I get it though, there are times when those "famous" places aren't always available.

Like, for instance, if you live nowhere near the cities listed as the home of The Most Famous Restaurants in America on Mashed's website.

Luckily for us, one of those restaurants is in Illinois and not far from us in the Rockford area.

The unlucky thing is, it's very hard to get a table, and it's gonna cost you a small fortune.

Other than that, this place is fine. It's better than fine but you know what I mean.

Anyway, Mashed says Alinea is one of the most famous restaurants in America, as I previously mentioned.

There are countless fine dining restaurants in the United States, many of which are considered among the best in the world. What separates Alinea and puts it atop any foodie's bucket list is its whimsical nature. Simply put, dining at the Chicago destination is unlike any other restaurant outing you'll ever have.

You don't order at Alinea, you are part of a theme. It's like dining at this restaurant is the show. You know dinner and a movie right? The standard date night? Think of Alinea as the dinner AND the movie. The only difference is you and the food are the star of the flick.

Jessica M. says on Yelp "There's no menu and no hints about what you're in for, which can be exciting."

Ryan H. called it a "once in a lifetime type dining experience" while Joanne H. said it was the "best meal of my life" at Alinea.

Elise K. added Alinea is "incredibly expensive and at the end of the day it didn't change my life."

It doesn't need to change your life but Alinea sure is famous. Book a table if you get a chance. Alinea is located at 1723 Halsted Road in Chicago.
