One of America’s Most Romantic Restaurants is in Illinois
Are we celebrating Valentine's Day this weekend or next?
Serious question because Valentine's Day is on Wednesday, and I feel when it comes to "holidays" like this do we celebrate on the weekend after or before?
Don't think about that too long because there's a very good chance you'll miss out on making reservations at one of the most romantic restaurants in America.
Food Republic listed a whole slew of amazing joints in their article titled America's Most Romantic Restaurants You Need To Try At Least Once while zeroing in on one in Illinois.
I would never claim to be a romantic but I know good food and thanks to a last-minute reservation by a pal a few years ago I had a chance to check this restaurant out in person.
It was a wonderful unforgettable evening made even better by an incredible late-night meal at Bavette's Bar & Boeuf.
It's also one of the most romantic restaurants in the US according to Food Republic.
Steakhouse, but make it French (and frisky). Part sultry jazz club, with a sprinkle of Moulin Rouge, even the wedge salad at Bavette's is sexy. It's got a steak knife stabbed through two thick slabs of bacon, draped over crumbled gorgonzola on iceberg lettuce that's dripping with ranch.
Denisha B. on Yelp agrees saying "It's a total romantic vibe and makes you feel like you're in Paris dining or some place that's not Chicago."
That Paris line might be a bit of a stretch but for the most part, I agree.
The only real complaints coming from folks is the price. James N. said "Excellent but expensive" when reviewing Bavette's but also added "Can be noisy depending on where you sit and the crowd."
Loud crowd or not, Bavette's is the spot this Valentine's Day. Bavette's Bar & Boeuf is located at 218 West Kinzie Street in Chicago.
