One of Illinois’ Newest Axe Throwing Spot Was Almost Something Totally Different
Don't you love a good backstory? Rustic Ridge Axe Throwing in Oregon, Illinois just opened a few weeks ago but the owners originally had something entirely different in mind.
We've been spending some bonus time in Oregon this month for an upcoming special week of Good Day Stateline and during our downtown last week we made a stop at Rustic Ridge Axe Throwing.
The minute you walk in you could tell it was brand new, almost as if no one had tossed an axe yet, but the tossing did start just a few weeks ago.
Chris Chapman and his wife Cassandra opened the location this year in the downtown area but according to Ogle County Life, they had something else in mind, a Western store.
They told the website, they had a change of heart and actually decided on the axe throwing business before ever throwing an axe.
Which really surprises me because when I stopped by last week, Chris threw an axe three times and every single time he hit the bullseye.
Rustic Ridge is at 117 N. 4th St in Oregon and you can toss axes for $20 an hour as long as you're over 14. If you are 14-17, you must have a parent or guardian with you.
Could be the perfect Father's Day activity, don't you think?
