That means whatever it is, food, entertainment, or tourist traps, getting recognized nationally for what you do locally is a big deal.

When you move past the United States, your attraction gets rated on a global scale, ranking among the best on Earth is enormous.

According to 24/7 Tempo's Most Popular Instagram Attractions in the World, one of those just so happens to be in Illinois.

THE TOP INSTAGRAM-WORTHY ATTRACTION IN ILLINOIS

Sandwiched between legendary places like the Forbidden City in Bejing, China, and Sacre-Coeur in Paris, France is the Art Institute of Chicago.

This list also features the Eiffel Tower and Christ the Redeemer, two of the most popular attractions, Instagram-friendly or otherwise, in the world.

Anyway, 24/7 Tempo ranked the Art Institute as the 35th most popular with an Instagram engagement rating of 1.93 out of 10.

Only eight places in America made the list and New York received half the nods.

I guess I've never considered how amazing and important the Art Institute is to people touring America.

That said, people take plenty of pics at the Art Institute and post them to Instagram.

Valentine's Day at the Art Institute yielded plenty of photos from people checking out the place.

I don't know if it's the lighting inside the Art Institute but it really does serve as a great backdrop for pics.
