Pink Explains How Breakups With Carey Hart Became Long-Lasting Love
For years, the love story between Pink and husband Carey Hart doubled as a relationship seesaw, and plummeted downward just as soon as it wound up. But lately, the couple's unshakable, and in a new interview with Us Weekly, Pink explains her unlikely path to true love.
The couple, who met in 2001, have been married for more than 10 years, but split up in 2003 and 2008 — they even drew up divorce papers when things grew particularly tough. But Pink and her BMX biker, who's not unused to rocky terrain, eventually found their footing again, and — more than a decade after their latest hiccup — they're on the right road. Respecting time and space is paramount to their love's success, they've noted.
And Pink, for one, never saw the domestic side of her life coming to fruition — she and Carey have two beautiful kids.
“I honestly can’t believe how responsible I am,” Pink told Us. “All of a sudden I’m a soccer mom and doing the damn thing. No one would have guessed this for me. Honestly, I didn’t realize that you could enjoy it so much.”
She added that she was even recently “screaming my head off,” during daughter Willow's T-ball game. “I made my baby cry!”
“Embarrassing them is the fun part!” she added. “The other day, I picked up her friend, who started singing, ‘Raise Your Glass.' My daughter rolled her eyes and said, ‘That’s not even one of the good ones!’”
And from the outside looking in, things couldn't be going better.
“They’ve been through a lot, but they are solid now,” a source close to the couple told Us. “They love their life together.”
