Even though Mother Nature is still giving us winter vibes, summer fun is getting closer. And if your kids are like mine, they're already plotting their grand return to a waterpark. They have their sights set on Illinois' largest waterpark this year, Raging Waves.

Raging Waves in Yorkville, Illinois officially opens for the 2025 season on May 24 and will keep the fun going until September 7. With a sprawling 58 acres of water-filled excitement, this place is basically a small ocean in the middle of the Midwest.

What's New This Year?

Just when you thought the park couldn't get any bigger, they went and added a two-story LED video screen to the Barrier Reef Wave Pool. Now, between catching the waves, you can watch a movie, a music video, or even a game. Other upgrades include:

  • More tubes and rafts at slides to speed up wait times
  • New special events for families and adults
  • More VIP cabanas (for when you need a break from the chaos)
  • Upgraded food options like gourmet popcorn and churro ice cream sundaes (sign me up)
  • A new audio system so you won’t miss a single park announcement

How Much Will This Adventure Cost?

Single-day tickets start at $62.99, while season passes begin at $81.99. Parking will cost you $20 if prepaid. But if we're all being honest, the real cost is explaining to your kids why you can't go every single weekend.

So, are we finally making this the year of Raging Waves? If my kids have anything to say about it, the answer is already yes.
