Illinois Shoppers: Reese’s and Almond Joy Ice Cream Bars Recalled

A recall has been announced for two popular ice cream bar products sold under the Reese's and Almond Joy brand names.

The Magnum Ice Cream Bars and Almond Joy Ice Cream Bars because of an error on the nutritional labeling.

The products were produced by the Magnum Ice Cream Company's Good Humor facility but sold under the Reese's and Almond Joy names.  While the recall is not limited to Illinois, shoppers across the state who recently purchased either product should check their packaging.

The recall has been classified as a Class III recall by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.  That means eating the recalled products is "Not likely to cause adverse health consequences."

The recalled Resse's Crunchy Peanut Ice Cream Bars come in a 6-count box, UPC code  8-40473-40024-5.

The recalled Almond Joy Ice Cream Bars also come in 6-count boxes, UPC code 8-40473-40029-0.

All lot codes of both products are included in the recall, so shoppers should use the UPC codes to determine whether their ice cream bars are impacted by the recall.
