Rockford is Facing a Christmas Tree Shortage Because of Something That Happened 10 Years Ago
Talk about having your past come back to haunt you!
If you haven't gotten your Christmas tree yet this year, you might want to get a jump on it.
According to People Magazine, we have a huge shortage of Christmas trees. Not because of the climate, or animals chewing on the bark, but because of what happened with our economy ten years ago.
When you break it down, it makes sense.
Trees take quite a while to grow, so something that happened ten years ago can obviously effect tree lives.
Ten years ago when we dealt with a huge recession, Christmas tree growers had to cut back on just how many trees they were able to plant.
If you love having a real tree in your home, you should still be able to find out, but chances are it will cost more than in the past.
