Babies R Us Back in Rockford and 10 Other Illinois Kohl’s Stores

If you're a new parent or are getting ready to be one for the first time, you'll be relieved to know that a core store from my early parenting days will be reopening.

When it was open, my wife and I made many trips to Babies R Us at the former East State Street location.

Like many other brick-and-mortar stores, Babies R Us closed, went bankrupt, and ultimately disappeared.

For those of us who needed baby stuff, you went to Target or Walmart or just ordered it online from a place like Amazon.

If you have been sorely missing a store that exclusively sells baby products, you're in luck because Babies R Us is back.

Well, kind of sort of "back."

That's because Babies R Us is coming back to Kohl's.

The news broke earlier this year that Kohl's partnered with WHP Global, the parent company of Babies R Us, to bring the experience to its stores.

Today, we know the Kohl's stores will be getting a Babies R Us upgrade.

For those of us in Rockford, Kohl's at 6125 East State Street will open a Babies R Us inside its walls starting August 9.
