Rockford Locals Don’t Gatekeep These Lunch Spots (So I Won’t Either)
Let me just say this: Rockford does not mess around when it comes to lunch. People here will swear on their favorite sandwich, wrap, bowl, or slice of pizza.
There is something about that 11:30am to 1:30pm window where Rockford goes full "don't talk to me, I haven't eaten" mode. You can feel it in the air! Everyone is on a quick 15 to 30 minute break, racing to the drive thrus all around town.
Every has their place. Including myself... shoutout to Dunkin' for always having the fastest drive-thru on the planet. I love, love, love getting a refresher with snackin' bacon on the side and a ham & swiss croissant stuffer. All of it puts me in a good mood for the rest of the day!
I asked on Facebook a few days ago what I should get for lunch since I usually stick to my same routine at Dunkin', and Rockford had so many suggestions I never even thought of ordering. I mean, heavy on that last one. I love pizza of all kinds (maybe not so much thin crust) and will eat it from anywhere. I don't think I've ever had one bad slice of pizza in the Rockford area... except for one place. That was a long time ago, so I'll give them another chance to redeem themself!
