Rockford Woman Warns Residents Of Suspicious Unsolicited Repairman
A Rockford area woman shared details of a suspicious unsolicited repairman on Facebook.
Becca Horner Ireland said a man who claimed to be a technician arrived unannounced at her mom's home on Friday, June 30 to check the batteries on her system.
After Ireland's mother told the man that it wasn't a good time for his visit, he asked if he could reschedule for the next day.
Ireland's mother then called the alarm company to verify if an employee was scheduled to come out, she found there wasn't an appointment scheduled..
The man returned the next day wearing a GE shirt, with a different claim saying "he worked "for the manufacturer" of Ireland's mother's alarm system.
A phone call to the alarm company showed yet again, an appointment hadn't been scheduled, prompting the mother to ask for a "business card, the guy didn't have one."
Ireland called the police and shared his description as a "white male, about 5'6 with a black shirt driving a black car."
If you see this man in your area, please contact 911 immediately.
