Let's call a spade a spade, I drank before I was 21...well before 21, and I'm sure a lot of you did too. Laws were different back when I was a teen, than they are now. Cops showed up at a high school party with kids drinking, they took your beer and kicked you out. These days your drivers license can me taken away, and I think they claim your first born or something...

There has to be some bizarre rule or deep rooted Illinois law somewhere that can make it legal to drink under 21, right? RIGHT! After doing some research on this topic, I found a law that makes it legal for persons under 21 to drink alcohol, it's called the "Sip and Spit" law...can't make this up. RiverFrontTimes

So here's the actual break down about this law:

The Illinois Senate voted 48-6 in favor of proposed "sip and spit" legislation. This legislation allows culinary students (this is the key part) under age 21 to legally taste, yes it says TASTE alcoholic. This can only be done in a classroom setting, and the student must spit it out after tasting it.

SOOOO...you must be a culinary student and you have to "sip" and "spit" it out....I'm sure these students don't actually drink it...cough, cough...The amount or volume of the alcohol is limited, equals about a "shot."  It's all about enhancing the experience for the students, that's always how it starts people...way to go.
