Small Town Near Rockford Named One of ‘The Coolest’ in the US
I'm just going to call it right now- I think I might already know who's going to win the Steve Shannon Show Small Town Showdown next year. Could it be Sycamore?
Only In Your State named Sycamore as one of the coolest towns in the United States.
I could reiterate all the nice things Only had to say about Sycamore, but because it's so close to Rockford, I thought I would just ask our listeners what they loved about Illinois' "coolest" small town.
Helena Disch says Sycamore is an "amazing lil' town;" she loves the popcorn cart, the awesome library, and "great peeps."
Sarah Mueller was born and raised in Sycamore and she says, "I love all the things they offer for the kids! The schools are great, festivals, memories of playing sports at the park, the bakery in sycamore, so many things I could tell you! It's hard to choose one!"
They even have an awesome DJ who "rocks MVP's every weekend." His name is Nick and he's cordially invited you to his #80sForTheLadies night on May 20th.
Only In Your State added that the vintage buildings, beautiful historic district, local eateries like Nats on Maple, the Pumpkin Festvival, Chapel in the Pines and all of the attractions are what make Sycamore one of the coolest in the country.
