Study Finds That Illinois is One Of the Strictest States When it Comes to Speeding
A couple of days before my 39th birthday all I could do was think about how I'm almost 40 and I've never had a car with air conditioning.
It's a weird thing to think about, I know, but it's not so weird when it's 100 degrees outside and you're stuck sitting at a stoplight with all your windows down and your hair is matted to your sweaty; greasy face.
I griped to my boyfriend about it later that day, but I wasn't really expecting him to do anything about it but either a. try to fix my A/C or b. just nod and say, "sorry, babe."
But, he did- he bought me an Audi with A/C. Yes, really. There's just one thing- I'm not sure I'm quite ready for all that power...or the speeding ticket that I could easily get with it.
When I took it for a test drive, my boyfriend told me to step on the gas; reluctantly, I floored it, and I swear it went from zero to 60 in about 2 seconds. I'm not going to lie, it was exhilarating; I even threw my hands up in the air and said, "weeeeeee."
That "weeeeee" can just as easily turn into a "waaaaaah" in about one second after a cop pulls me over for speeding.
I'll just have to be extra careful driving down Illinois roads, especially after ABC 7 Chicago just revealed that Illinois is one of the strictest states on speeding, ranking 4th on speeding enforcement in a study done by Wallethub.
Delaware took the top spot.
