A lot of people just had their Memorial Day plans upended by one simple Instagram post.

What would have been Summer Camp Music Festival’s 25th anniversary is now nothing, as organizers said the show is officially canceled.

This is just a little over a week before the event was supposed to take place in Chillicothe, not far from Peoria.

Summer Camp Music Festival Cancelled Due to Financial Complications

People behind the scenes at the festival say financial problems involving a third-party provider, as well as contract complications, are the reason for the sudden cancellation.

Summer Camp was going to feature 2 Chainz, Three 6 Mafia, Big Gigantic, and others.

If you’ve ever dealt with an artist or event cancellation, it just sucks. There’s no other way to put it.

For a lot of us, when you buy tickets for something like this, it’s circled on your calendar, and it’s something to look forward to, especially with summer nearing. Summer Camp is a great way to kick off the season.

Now it’s not happening, and when festivals like this take a year off, you have to wonder if they���re gone for good, or if it’s a one-year thing?
