License Plates

For a long time, Illinois had the worst-looking license plates in the country. And it didn't take long before the color started falling off. It wasn't always this way.

You'd think that this would be an easily answered question. If my plate, or plates were stolen, I'd probably think of myself as being the victim in that scenario. However, an Aurora man found out that things sometimes are just not that clear-cut.

Wasn't it just a few months back that we were being warned about people stealing catalytic converters off of parked cars? Wasn't a piece of hollow metal filled with rare-earth minerals enough?

Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White knows that there's nothing that Illinois residents enjoy more than spending some time waiting in line at Illinois driver's license facilities, but he'd like you to reconsider your next trip there.

Before getting rid of a vehicle, remove your Illinois license plates.

In the future, Illinois residents won't have to worry about renewing their license plates every year because a new law will change it to every other year.

After having traveled to several different states in the last year, I now have license plate envy. And these 8 new designs are all better than what we have now.

Maybe you've got them, maybe you don't, but we're all pretty much aware that for a fee, you can choose the wording of your license plates here in Illinois--within reason.

Once you figure out what this license plate says, you will wish you had it. In the last year it has become one of my favorite sayings.
