No matter where you live, someone is probably going to pronounce the state you live in completely wrong. I've learned to just live with it because it takes too much energy to try and explain the 's' is silent in Illinois.

Today I learned Thomas Jefferson might be the reason why we have the same names for different streets and roads in Rockford.
